Moog Medical is pleased to provide a training workshop titled Filtering the Information about In-Line Filters. Upon completion, attendees will be awarded 1.0 CEUs.

This course provides a broad overview of the use of filters in intravenous infusions. Attendees will become familiar with the Infusion Nurses Society’s Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice, 8th Edition as it relates to in-line filtration. Attendees will also learn the purpose and limitations of intravenous filters, how to choose the correct filter to meet the specific needs of the infusion and the patient, and learn proper usage of filters of different types.

Who can attend? Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 17593 for 1 contact hour. RN license numbers are required by the California Board of Nursing. This CPE activity application is pending CDR review and approval for 1.0 CE as a CPE Prior Approved Program with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), Provider Code #22763”, Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTRs) will receive 1.0 continuing professional education units. How long is the course? Each course lasts roughly 60 minutes, depending on the question and answer period.

Clinical Training Specialist

Vanessa Sumner graduated from Ameritech College of Nursing in 2014 and started her career in nursing at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah specializing in Cardiovascular Nursing, Heart Failure and Heart Transplant. She graduated in 2019 with her Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership and in 2023 with her Master of Business Administration. In 2020 she worked for Ameritech College of Nursing as a Clinical Instructor where she grew to love educating future nurses. She joined Moog in 2020 as our Clinical Training Specialist. She continues that love of educating by keep our internal employees up to date on the clinical aspects of infusion and enteral nutrition.

Migan Orton Lightfoot, BSN, MSCN, CRNI

Sr. Clinical Services Specialist

Migan Orton Lightfoot, BSN, MSCN, CRNI joined Moog in 2019, as a Clinical Specialist. Migan completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, at the University of Utah in 2009, and worked as an infusion nurse in an outpatient infusion clinic and as an OR nurse in a Level 1 trauma hospital for 14 years. Before nursing, Migan enjoyed a career in electronic engineering. She uses the technical and clinical skills acquired from her diverse background, to assist in product development and to provide clinical knowledge and expertise to patients and clinicians. Migan strongly believes in empowering people through education and is dedicated to provide the best training and troubleshooting on Moog’s infusion and enteral feeding pumps. Migan is a Certified Multiple Sclerosis Nurse and a Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion.
